  • Why do I need a bookkeeper?

  • What software does Books in a Mess use?

    At Books in a Mess, we use Xero and ReceiptBank. These 2 programs have the potential to be integrated and offer a completely paperless accounting solution for small businesses. Before recommending a software, we'll sit down with you—on-site or over the phone—and discuss your needs. We'll tailor a package that is the right fit.

  • I'm behind on my BAS and tax. Can you help?

    We certainly can! Getting behind on your quarterly BAS lodgement isn't good, but it's certainly not uncommon. Whether you've been flat-out, or you just can't get the hang of the paperwork, ensuring your BAS is up-to-date is imperative.


    Call Books in a Mess ASAP. With more than 20 years' experience under our belts, we will organise and lodge your BAS and tax return. We'll even do our best to negotiate with the ATO and try get any fees or late interest waived where possible.

  • Do you only offer offsite bookkeeping?

    No. While we do offer a complete offsite service to all our clients, we're more than happy to come to your office and work with you face-to-face. Many of our Central Coast clients prefer this as it is often easier to explain and demonstrate things in person, rather than over the phone.

  • What areas does Books in a Mess service?
